About me

Hello! I'm Maartje Mosch, a painter based in Bergen, where I live with my husband and two children. My journey with art began early, I was that kid who could spend hours lost in drawing and colors, often more interested in the feel of a paintbrush than any other toy. Growing up, my curiosity for shapes and colors grew into a love for painting, and quickly became my favorite way of spending my time.

Over time, I found myself especially drawn to the human form, particularly the unique and beautiful lines of the female body. I've taken several courses to deepen my understanding, including sessions with live models, but my style remains self-taught, developed by experimenting with color and exploring the natural flow of different materials. I work primarily with acrylics and oils, mixing in mediums and modeling pastes to add a rich texture that brings my pieces to life. My approach is spontaneous and intuitive; I love pouring paint, creating layers, and allowing each piece to emerge in its own way.

My art focuses on two themes: the expressive beauty of the female form and the flowing, boundless nature of abstraction. I often zoom in on specific details—breasts, nipples, the clitoris—celebrating these as symbols of strength and femininity. For me, these close-ups are as much about energy and emotion as they are about physical form.

In my art, I hope viewers find something of themselves. Whether it sparks curiosity, comfort, or something unexpected, my wish is for each piece to connect with people in their own unique way.

Thank you for being here, and I hope you find a piece that resonates with you in my collection.
